Equal employment opportunity for people with disability

Equal employment opportunity right for people with disability.

Despite major gains in recent years in terms of education and some skills development, people with disabilities still continued to face discrimination and other barriers to full participation in social, economics, political and cultural life.

People with disabilities are likely to be unemployed or earn less than non disabled people and in jobs with poor promotional prospects and working conditions, especially if they are women and girls many work in the unprotected, and informal economy. few have an access to skills development and other opportunities that would ebable them to earn a better and decent living.

The potentials of every disabled women and girls remains untapped and unrecognized, leaving the majority in absolute poverty, dependence and social exclusion. Excluding disable people from the world of work has cost for the societies in terms of their productive potentials, the cost of disability benefits and and pensions, and implications for their families and career development for persons with different disabilities.
