Burkina Faso : CORONA VIRUS, appeal of people with disabilities in Burkina to governments, actors in the fight against the virus and all those who disseminate information to the public

Burkina Faso: CORONA VIRUS, appeal of people with disabilities in Burkina to governments, actors in the fight against the virus and all those who disseminate information to the public

The movement of people with disabilities in Burkina Faso, while welcoming the combined efforts of each of all in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, would like to urge all to take the necessary measures to guarantee access to everyone, including people with disabilities (Deaf people) and hard of hearing, blind and visually impaired) to public information and health communication messages related to the Coronavirus pandemic. All essential information should be made available in accessible formats such as audio format, large print, sign language translation of television programs and information, or in plain language and in easy to read format.
As the virus continues to spread around the world and in Burkina, people with disabilities want essential services to be inclusive and accessible to all people with disabilities.
We also urge government officials and key stakeholders to work with people with disabilities when developing contingency plans to ensure that their specific needs are taken into account.
We call on people with disabilities during this difficult time to follow the guidelines of the Burkina Ministry of Health to curb the epidemic.
This is a message from the National Network of Organizations of People with Disabilities in Burkina
